Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Claudio Abbado & Chicago Symphony Orchestra

Perhaps the most successful musical combination of Claudio Abbado's various collaborations developed in the four outstanding years when he was Principal Guest Conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (from 1982). The fine precision and finesse of the Italian turned out to be ideal in reality for a symbiotic relationship with the Chicago orchestra, which he inspired to a sparkling, smooth intensity. With works by Mahler, Prokofiev, Mendelsoh and Bruch (violin concertos), Berlioz and Bartok. Cardboard sleeves in original cover design and new liner notes complete the equipment of the cap box.
