Sam Shepherd (aka Floating Points) traded nightclubs for the ballet stage with "Mere Mortals," a retelling of the Greek myth of Pandora. Premiering with the San Francisco Ballet in 2024, and returning in 2026, the work recast Pandora as a symbol of curiosity and change. Exploring eternal philosophical questions through the timely subject of artificial intelligence, this ballet examines the promises and perils of humankind forging new paths in unknown territory.
